Environmental protection from the perspective of the fight against illicit drugs in Colombia.

Abstract

Colombia is a country with a vast biodiversity due to the special characteristics of the region, in contrast the country has suffered for decades the scourge of war reflected in the production of illicit drugs and is dishonorably recognized internationally for this stigma, the government nationally I have directed efforts through the National Drug Policy 2023 – 2033, through which it seeks to reorient actions to achieve not only the eradication of illicit crops in the country but also the recognition and management of the true causes of which currently If this situation continues to arise, it must additionally be recognized that there is a large disastrous management footprint with the previous policies that has triggered the violation of human rights in relation to the deterioration of the environment of which the state should be a forceful guarantor. .
The impact on the environment translates into a direct impact or violation of fundamental rights such as health, education and life itself, for this reason a review of the current drug policy is carried out in a way that allows it to be contrasted with the interventions of various authors if its application is indeed not only focused on ending this illegal economy but also on the protection that should have initially been granted to the environment through the precautionary principle.
Finally, in the development of this document, it was established that although it is true, in principle the management that was given to these circumstances has tried to compensate through alternatives that promote the protection of the environment in consideration of the variables themselves. of
each region, attention to human rights, recognition of the errors of previous policies and the proposal of new alternatives.
